Investing in the future of dermatology

The Taiwanese Dermatology Association (TDA) was founded in 1975 and counts 900 members out of a total population of 23 million. Every year, 1400 new medical graduates who want to become certified dermatologists try for the 30 to 35 positions offered by the National Department of Health. The TDA is working to develop skin research in Taiwan by opening more positions and retaining talented dermatologists who wish to travel abroad for better training.

For over 7 years, Galderma has been committed to the development of the Taiwanese Dermatology Association. Galderma also works with to the TDA’s quarterly publication, ‘Dermatologica Sinica’, which has been included in the prestigious Science Citation Index Expanded since 2008, in recognition of its academic excellence.

Galderma builds a stronger relationship with the TDA, through its promotion of dermatological science research. Their long-term partnership has the same objective: developing skin science in Taiwan. In November 2006 and 2007, during the annual congress, Galderma granted two-year research grants to 6 promising dermatologists to provide them with post-graduate scientific education.
